Daylight Autonomy
Analyze the daylight autonomy for a selected block using this feature. To know more about how we perform this analysis, find our whitepaper on the topic here.
Follow these steps to calculate DA(Daylight Autonomy) and sDA(Spatial Daylight Autonomy) for selected block:
- Click and select a block you would like to calculate Daylight Autonomy for.
- While the block is selected, click on the Sun Settings icon in the ribbon.
- Under Sun Studies sidebar, you will find the Daylight Study tab. Click on it to reveal settings.
- Configure the Window to Wall Ratio (WWR) for your block in cardinal directions, using the dropdown and the slider as shown below. For example, you can set the WWR to 40% towards the North direction.
- Once you have configured your settings, press the Run for Selected button.
- The calculation will be completed in a matter of seconds - with DA and sDA visualized as percentages.
- Modify your block and run the simulation again to understand the effects of your modifications on Daylight Autonomy.
